October 5, 6, and 7, some of the Homefront Leaders from Oregon and Washington, Kansas and Ohio spent the weekend in Pacific City at a beautiful home on the beach. There were 20 of us in all and we enjoyed delicious food, rich fellowship, and Holy Spirit-lead ministry. You will be able to tell by the pictures that it was an incredible time. The weather even cooperated; the Son was shining on us!
ARE YOU THE SPOUSE OR FAMILY MEMBER OF A VETERAN?
Finally, there is a Christian Outreach for spouses and family members of veterans. There is hope for the "Homefront"! Learn more about how living with a veteran has or is effecting your own life or that of your children. We have all been there and have experienced our own PTS to some degree, but have learned how to have victory in our homes and to comfort other spouses and children who need our help. Contact any of the women below for further information. We are interested in reaching those whose family member may have returned more recently from Iraq, either in the Desert Storm conflict or the present Iraqi conflict.
"He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds." Psalm 147:3
HOMEFRONT
Attending a women's retreat is just one of the ways women learn more about themselves and what God's purposes and destiny are for their lives. It's a time of refreshing where you get away from the every-day routine and minister to one another the healing balm of the Lord Jesus.
Homefront meetings are often held weekly at the same time the veterans are meeting, but just in a different room or location. This is a time of learning to walk in wholeness, in the comfort and understanding of friends. Besides, we have a lot of fun! We're very much alike and have a great deal in common although we all come from different backgrounds.
"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion." Ph. 1:6 "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." James 1:5 "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Heb. 11:6 "'For I know the plans I have for you', declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.'" Jer. 29:11-13

Sunday morning we got up early to have breakfast and see 3 of the Kansas gals off. They had to catch a flight back later that day! It was hard to say goodbye!
Mona, ever prepared with her apron on, and Kristie saying good morning!
Mona slipped out to the beach for one last fling...
Back at the house, Cora and Norma are saying..."Can we ever eat all this food?"
Cindy and Sue say, "No way!"
Some of the incredible kitchen help, Norma, Bari and Janet! Bari, thank you for all you did...you kept the dishes clean as fast as we used them! You are amazing!
Ellen, Cora, Norma, Bari, Janet and Mona...
Chris and Delva from Yakima had a little niche at the top of the stairs. Not a very private spot for a nap, but they made it work! Thanks, girls!
This little guy posed on the back deck off the kitchen!
The river behind our house.
It's hard to say good-bye!
Janet, Cindy, Norma and Cora...
We'll all remember this house...3 floors plus the little room at the top (Mona's room)...carrying those heavy coolers to the kitchen on the top floor...lots of bedrooms, shared beds, mattresses on the floor and cots, but we each found our niche and had a wonderful time sharing this house for the weekend!
The back view...
The Tillamook Cheese Factory, home of the "squeeky cheese"!
At least 4 of us stopped there on our way home. Mona and Bari took Cindy from Ohio to view the making of cheese here in Oregon! They had a nice lunch and toured the factory! Ellen stopped just for a few minutes to pick up some of that "squeeky cheese" for the ride home!
Our guests of honor, our speaker Donna Crow (right) and Kathy Register, her prayer support (left). They came from Eugene. Donna has a ministry to those who would seek breakthrough in their lives, whether it be a physical healing, emotional healing, financial breakthrough or other need.
